Affiliate Marketing Part Two – Know Your Passion

It is a common error that people make when starting in affiliate marketing that they will start trying to promote any program that they think will be profitable or they heard was making money for someone else.

By reading this article, you will know that this is not how to get started, and soon your passion for your chosen promotions will pay off in your chosen affiliate program promotions.To get started simply follow these basic steps:

1) Create a list of “Passions” or Interests you have
2) Research your market to define which of these is
a potential profitable affiliate marketing trial.
3) Research the affiliate programs available in these
areas of interest.
4) Check out the Competition and track results
5) Test your chosen market with a small Pay Per Click
5a) Assess the results
6) Set up an Autoresponder series and free gift
7) Build a List of Potential Joint venture Partners
and Traffic generation methods
Expand your test site to full blown site
9) Test and tweak promotions, layout of site etc
10) Rinse and repeat.

Now of course, I cannot cover all the meat on the bones in this one article, that would take an entire book on
at least a couple of specialist areas, but the book Profit from Affiilate Marketing covers the Affiliate Process in
much greater detail.

Being an affiliate is like being an extention of a company salesforce. The best benefit though is you do not need to perfect that dreaded face to face selling or closing. But you still need to understand your potential prospect, know their market and hot
buttons that sell, and when and how to close.

It can be as simple as:

*Define your ‘typical’ visitor
*Give them a large part of the information that
they came looking for in the first place
*Sell them on the benefits of knowing the rest,
which “X Product” fulfills and here is why…..

If you want to get into more detail, you can list the BAD things are the not quite up to the mark tips about the product you move onto promote. But keep in mind why its an essential must have, or EVEN BETTER, give them the part that you feel is
missing as a “Bonus” once they purchase the product.

This will set you apart from other affiliates who simply link direct to the product, or perhaps will put up a review site, but simply promote the hell out of the product anyway and not really ‘review it’.

Affiliate Marketing has its own science, but in its raw form, anyone can make money with it if they apply simple rules and follow them each time. Its how you tweak the system that makes you the super affiliate on six figures a year (or more).
